Join us for our Careers Leadership Summit at 12.30pm on Thursday 8th December at IET London, Savoy Place.
Our keynote speaker, Hannah Fry, is a mathematician, science presenter, recipient of the Zeeman Medal and best-selling author of ‘The Mathematics of Love’.
This event will see leaders from the sector discussing the future of careers and employability in HE, looking at how university principals, careers leaders, technologists and businesses can all work together to navigate a turbulent global economy and unpredictable employment landscape.
As well as providing an excellent opportunity for colleagues to get together before the festive period, (with all travel costs reimbursed*) Handshake will also be unveiling its product vision for the next 12 months - the culmination of the co-creation efforts with over 50 universities!
Our keynote speaker, Hannah Fry, is a British mathematician, award-winning science presenter and best-selling author of ‘The Mathematics of Love’.
For her talk, Hannah will take her study of the patterns of human behaviour with relation to mathematics and apply it to the world of Careers. Throughout her talk, Hannah will explore the joys of data and discuss what it can (and can’t!) tell us about human behaviour with a specific focus on the career landscape.
The next session is the culmination of the co-creation efforts universities have undertaken with Handshake as our Chief Education Officer and Director of Product unveil the product vision you have helped shape.
During this talk you’ll be the first to hear what areas of the platform we will be investing in, based on your feedback, to help create a better experience for both career services and students.
Expect to hear more about new ways career service professionals can support their students with their job search and how students will be able to access even more relevant opportunities with key employers.
For our thought-provoking panel discussion we are joined by sector leaders to discuss the opportunities open to graduates and careers services now and in the future, and how technology could support this.
This is your chance to ask questions to your peers, gain insight and new perspectives from your peers and also have your say on the future of careers.
Featuring:
Dr Stephen Boyd: Director, Careers & Employability, Manchester Metropolitan University
Paul Gratrick: Regionalisation Director and President, AGCAS
Hannah Smith: Director of Student Careers and Systems, University of York
Christine Cruzvergara: Chief Education Strategy Officer, Handshake
After the panel, we’ll take this opportunity to reflect on the uniting reason we are here today; the students.
At Handshake, we are driven by the mission to give all students the chance to build the career they want, regardless of their background or what school they attend. So, what better way to end the day than by hearing from the students themselves.
